StatureLife: Top 5 Sensitive Subjects For Black Men

We all have buttons we hope that no one ever pushes. You know that one sensitive subject that has the ability to make you either thirty-eight hot (I know that’s not that hot, but it’s a cliche) or even straight black-out from anger.

While we all individually have deeply rooted issues or subjects, we’ve put together a list of subjects that the brothers are most sensitive about.

So tread lightly the next time, you casually or intentionally bring up any of the following sedative subjects for black men that could cause tension.

Our Sports Team

Men are straight fanatics about their sports teams. Whether their team is good or bad, there is an unquestionable loyalty that comes with supporting their team. From a very young age, you ask any boy, but specifically a black boy what he wants to be when he grows up, and he’ll team you some degree of a professional sports player.

Then, we adopt our favorite teams either by the city you were born and raised in, family birthright meaning your whole family were dolphin fans so you became one, or at a young age you started as a bandwagon fan and never wavered…no matter what, there is a lot of time and emotions invested into cheering for your favorite sports teams, so you dare not disrespect a man’s team.

Our Momma

Hey momma, I wanna scream so loud for you…and I’m so proud of you (Kanye West). No matter how good or how bad a man’s relationship is with his momma, she is still his momma and he will always love her. From conception, we are one with our momma, living, eating, and breathing off of her. The one woman who loved us before ever knowing what we looked like or even acted like for over nine months.

Speaking to the overall black majority, in correlation to asking the young black boy what he’d like to be when he grows up, buying his momma a house will be one of the top things he’d want to do when he grows up. If a black man is lucky enough to make it into adulthood, he may owe much of the credit to his momma, because she loved him through everything; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Even though when it comes joking and cracking on your fellas, be sure never to take it too far with the “Yo Momma” jokes because things could go from bad to worst when that man has a soft spot for his momma. Dear Momma, there’s no way I could pay you back, but the plan is to show you that I understand, you are appreciated.
