A New Magazine Celebrating The Natural Haired-Woman

The natural hair journey and story is not a social media phase. As women worldwide continue to embrace their kinks, play around with learning the differences in 4A compare to 4C texture, and feel the burn in their arms from attempting to achieve Naptural85 styles, the need for publications specifically for the natural-haired woman increases.

Aiming to fulfill that particular need is CRWNMAG, a new quarterly natural hair magazine honoring the power and beauty of black women’s hair.

Co-founders Lindsey Day, editor-in-chief, and Nkrumah Farrar, creative director, put their minds together to create a platform that will document the experiences of natural-haired black women while also setting a new standard of beauty and encouraging women to embrace their personal hair journeys.

In a recent Huffington Post interview the ladies described the publications purpose, “CRWNMAG exists create a progressive dialogue around what it really means to “go natural in America. Through beautiful content, thoughtful commentary, hair inspiration and resources, we’re telling the world the truth about black women by showcasing a new standard of beauty — and documenting our story in tangible, print form.”

Hair is simply the launching pad for CRWNMAG, Day and Farrar will provide more in-depth content to include lifestyle content for its readers including career and travel stories. Also, CRWNMAG already has video projects and brand collaborations in the works.
